Technovit plastic embedding kits from Heraeus Kulzer in Germany are the standard where convenience of use, quality of components and results, and extensive technical heritage are important.
The reasons for Technovit GMA kits´ popularity include:
- Technovit GMA kits give better results with improved morphology, and the plastic makes serial 1µ sectioning possible.
- Technovit 7100 GMA is less sensitive to O2 during polymerization so sealing of the molds is not necessary.
- The polymerization temperature never exceeds 40°C, making either Technovit kit a potential choice for enzyme histochemistry. Initiation chemistry of Technovit 8100 GMA makes polymerization at 4°C possible for improved signal during immunohistochemistry.
- The initiator is prepackaged, eliminating messy handling of dry components. And, by eliminating aromatic amines from the formulation, the components are significantly less toxic.
- The constantly high quality of raw materials gives permanently clear, colorless blocks and more reproducible results.
These benefits, coupled with Energy Beam Sciences´ rapid delivery and helpful technical service, make Technovit the GMA kit of choice for your work.
NOTE: GMA resin-based products (Technovit® 7100, 8100) should not be used when epoxy removal from specimens is required. There is no known method of GMA epoxy removal (including methoxide) that does not effectively render specimens unusable. Instead, MMA resin-based products such as Technovit® 9100 should be selected.
